AdBlue fueled instead of diesel

AdBlue fueled instead of diesel?

Never put AdBlue in the diesel tank. It can irreparably damage your engine! AdBlue are NOx reducing agents. They cause reduction of nitrogen oxide in catalysts, for cars and trucks diesel engines.

If you have incorrectly refueled, your vehicle tank must be expertly pumped out.

What is AdBlue?

AdBlue is an additive against pollutants
  • AdBlue is a liquid that reduces pollutant emissions in diesel vehicles. It has been used in Europe for many years, as diesel vehicles would otherwise exceed the prescribed limit for pollutants.
  • Modern diesel vehicles use AdBlue to reduce the emission of nitrogen oxides. For this purpose, a vehicle-mounted catalyst is used together with AdBlue.
  • AdBlue reacts with the nitrogen oxides in the catalyst and converts them into water vapor and nitrogen. This ensures 90% more environmentally friendly exhaust gases.
  • If you no longer have AdBlue in the designated container, most modern motor vehicles will in most cases stop moving.
  • The reason is that the regulatory limit prescribed by law would otherwise be exceeded.
  • AdBlue consists of 32.5% urea and 67.5% demineralized water.
  • The liquid is not toxic and largely odorless.
